ROLESVILLE – Three athletes finish top five at Junior Olympics

ROLESVILLE — Keonte Sutton, Isiah Jones and Lance Garrett of the Rolesville Lightning Track and Field Club finished in the top five for their age division at the annual National Junior Olympics at Greensboro July 29.

Keonte Sutton won third place in the boys shot put for the 8-years-old and younger division. The 8-year-old tossed a distance of 24-feet-1.5-inches. This was his first year competing in this event.

Jones finished fourth in the boys 400-meter dash for the 11-12-year-old age group with a time of 57.51 seconds. Garrett placed fifth in the boys high jump for the 13-14-year-old division with a measurement of 5-feet-10-inches.
