Hillary Leacock
Coach Leacock
Coach Hillary Leacock is the Head Coach. He has over 25 years of experience both as an athlete and a Youth Track and Field Coach. Coach Leacock specializes in the sprints, long jump, high jump, proper form and technique and general conditioning.
Coach Leacock attended North Carolina State and competed in High jump, 400M, 200M as well as represented his Country of Trinidad and Tobago on an international level. He believes that every person has a unique talent and it is his responsibility as a coach to unlock and groom that gift and allow it to blossom. He also believes that self-discipline, self-confidence and respect for others and authority are the basics to be successful in every aspect of life. He is somewhat of Drill Sergeant; but is still able to make practices fun. “Track is the basis for all other active sports.”
Beverley Leacock
Coach Beverley
Coach Beverley has over 20 years of experience both as a Division I Graduate Assistant Coach and as a Youth Track and Field Coach and mentor. Coach Beverley specializes in the middle and long distance events.
Beverley attended Jackson State University where she was an All American. She competed in the 400, 800, 1500 meters and Cross Country events. Beverley has a passion for Track and Field and strongly believes that track and field promotes a healthy and active lifestyle and is the basic for all other sports. “All dreams are possible with a positive attitude, respect for others and strong commitment”
Fiaunna Shivers
Coach Fi
Fiaunna Shivers is the Lightning’s horizontal jump coach. She has been a USATF coach for over a decade and is the parent of two USATF runners. Coach Fi is a NCSU alumni, where she ran the 100m dash, performed in the long and triple jump and earned several ACC accolades. She was Conference & Regional Champion three consecutive years in high school and still holds the record in all of her individual events. Fiaunna loves fitness and likes to take a wholistic approach to coaching. She believes healthy living should not be seasonal practice but a way of life.
Clyde Lewis
Coach Clyde
Coach Clyde is originally from Montego Bay, Jamaica but grew up in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia. Clyde is a former All-American athlete and member of his alma mater’s(CNU) Track and Field Hall of Fame. He enjoys competition and still competes as a USATF masters athlete. In his fourth year with the club as a USA Track & Field – Level 1 certified coach, Clyde enjoys tapping into that hidden potential of every athlete. He also believes that with the right attitude, all things are possible.
Lamonte Garrett
Coach Lamonte
Coach Lamonte brings over seven years of youth track experience to the club and have produced several hurdler and jumper All-Americans in differrent age groups. What gets Coach Lamonte exicted is identifying a skillset that was going undetected and helping that athlete excel at it. “I love finding that high jumper or hurdler that ends up making nationals after not being able to do so in something like the 100 or 200 meters.”
Angela Bethea
Coach Angela
Coach Angela has been a member of the Rolesville Lightning staff for the past two years. Born and raised in Florida, Coach Angela made her way to the Raleigh area via a track scholarship to Shaw University. She competed in the 110 hurdles, 330 hurdles, 4×100 and 4×400 relays, flourishing as a student athlete and graduating with honors.
She may be new to coaching, but certainly not new to track and field. Her two daughters currently are members of the Rolesville Lightning Track team, which enables her to share her passion for the sport alongside her kids. Her goal is to help them and other teammates strive to be the best. Coach Angela enjoys exercising, bike riding and most of all running. She has also been certified as a personal trainer. She lives by the motto “life is short; live it to the fullest.”
Daniel Pendergrass
Coach D
Coach D has been part of the Rolesville Lightning family since 2018, with a brief hiatus following COVID. During his school years, he competed in the 400-meter dash and long jump, achieving great success from middle school through college on an athletic and merit-based academic scholarship at Campbell University. After college, he served as a United States Marine from 1999 until 2007 as an intelligence analyst and martial arts instructor.
He is passionate about working with kids, creating a supportive environment where they feel valued and understood. Beyond honing their athletic skills, his coaching philosophy focuses on nurturing their mental acuity, emotional stability, and character development.

Practices are held every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 6:30 – 8:00PM. Our season runs March through August.
